Hey guys; I use web2py along with other development frameworks (InstantDjango, InstantRuby, XAMPP), on a portable USB thumb-drive. One problem I have solved is getting MySQLdb working in web2py. I have tried the following, and it seems to work: Download and install ActiveState Python2.5 for Windows( http://downloads.activestate.com/ActivePython/windows/2.5/ActivePython-2.5.2.2-win32-x86.msi ). This installs python to `C:\Python25\` Download and install the MySQL client ( `MySQL-python-1.2.2.win32-py2.5.exe` ) from Sourceforge( http://sourceforge.net/projects/mysql-python ). This installs files to `C:\Python25\Lib\site-packages` Copy the following directories and files from `C:\Python25\Lib\site-packages` to the `Lib\site-packages` directory for web2py( `%web2py%\Lib\site-packages` ), (create the 2 subdirectories `Lib` and `site-packages` if they do not exist): MySQL_python-1.2.2-py2.5.egg-info MySQLdb _mysql.pyd _mysql_exceptions.py _mysql_exceptions.pyc _mysql_exceptions.pyo Start the `web2py.exe` application. Note that the `WARNING:root:no MySQLdb driver` message should not show up on the console now. -rppowell PS: The licence information displayed when installing MySQL-python-1.2.2.win32-py2.5.exe says that it is `Free Software`, so I will try to upload a zip file archive of the MySQLdb files to the Google Group ( http://groups.google.com/group/web2py/files?hl=en ) for others to use.
